A round up of the last 12 months at Simply Supply
Throughout 2018, there have been some exciting developments from the world of Simply Supply. At this time of year, we like to reflect on everything that’s happened, and also take a look at what the future might hold for our candidates, clients and team members.
Take a look below to see some of the highlights from the last 12 months at Simply Supply.
The largest supplier of temporary staff in Hampshire
For the last 10 years, we have worked closely with schools, nurseries and teaching staff across the South Coast to provide the highest standard of service as possible.
Thanks to a Freedom of Information Request submitted mid-2018, we are pleased to announce that we’re the largest supplier of temporary teaching staff across Hampshire. As a local, independent business, we’re exceptionally proud of this accomplishment, and can’t wait to continue this growth over the next few years.
Pretty Muddy mayhem
In July of this year, several members of our team signed up to complete the 5k Race for Life Pretty Muddy event. This was in memory of a member of our team that we sadly lost, and we wanted to finish the race in memory of him and other family and friends who have had a battle with cancer.
We are so pleased to say that we completed the ‘Muddy Mayhem’ and successfully hit our target of £1450 and want to thank everyone who generously donated to such a worthy cause.
CPD Training Academy
As part of our on-going commitment to our candidates, we have continued developing our free CPD Training Academy this year. As a free training resource that all candidates have access to, topics covered include safeguarding, cover supervisor, behaviour management and much, much more.
Each workshop guides you through the steps you need to take to enhance your teaching style, and we will continue adding to this over the coming months and years.
If you would like access to these free training workshops, then you can register with us today using the contact form here.

What’s coming for 2019?
EU Procurement Legislation & School Spend on Supply Teachers
We will look forward to working with some of our local schools via the Crown Commercial Services Framework Contract for the procurement of Supply Teachers in the UK.
The CCS Contract has been developed alongside the Department for Education to ensure that a tendering process has been satisfied for schools spending of public money on Supply Teachers. This is particularly of interest to high spending schools spending over the threshold, in order to comply with EU Procurement Legislation.
New Simply Supply Office
We are very excited to tell you that we have opened a second office in the North East of the country. Tracy Harrison, who has been with Simply Supply since 2010 has lead this new venture and has her first member of staff starting in January 2019. We are confident that this office will become a huge success next year.
Guaranteed fair pay for Supply Teachers
We guarantee that our Supply Teachers are paid fairly. We don’t pay qualified teachers any less than £110 per day, and we feel that it is important to make note of this, particularly in the future months where agencies are reducing both charge and pay rates to remain competitive.
Further growth in the Hampshire region
We now have separate teams for each of our market sectors, Nursery, Primary, Secondary & SEN, with more than just one Consultant per team we have positioned ourselves well to continue to grow these specialist recruitment sectors.
Auditing & Quality
We will be audited again by the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) who are the Recruitment Industries regulatory body, this is an annual external audit and we feel confident that we will pass it, maintaining our Audited Education Accreditation.
Many Education Recruitment Businesses now only take up two employment references for their supply teachers, we will continue to take up three, this ensures the on-going quality of the temporary workers we provide.
Our IT Developers will continue working closely with our Consultant team in order to develop our online web portal functions in line with what our schools are asking for and need. This development will further enhance our services and continue to be user-friendly, in particular, our online timesheet, purchase order and invoicing system, but also our online booking system.
A word from our Director, Emma Collins
Being the only independent Education & Childcare Recruitment Business in Hampshire, I would personally like to thank our extremely loyal clients, who value the service we provide and continue to support us as a local business.
This, having been especially important to us over the last six months with regard to on-going changes within some Local Education Authorities. It is apparent that budgets are being cut not only in schools but within the Local Councils also. There is a lot of movement in the Education Recruitment Industry at the moment, but we are luckily a well-established and reputable Recruitment Business, so I feel confident that we will be able to move through these challenging times.
We are proud to say that we have always offered value for money to our schools, we place ourselves at the cutting edge of competitiveness without reducing our teachers pay, and without taking high margins or fees as some agencies are well known for.
We would just like to take this opportunity to thank our fantastic team who have worked incredibly hard to get us to where we are today. We couldn’t have done it without you, and it’s your passion and dedication that makes us the thriving education agency we are today.
Lastly, we would like to wish you all well for the rest of the festive season and into the New Year. Remember, if you’d like to keep up to date on all the events, updates and insights from our business, then you can find us on Twitter and Facebook.
